URBAN DESIGNS
Urban Design pertains to the development and designing of the urban spaces viz the towns, cities, streets and related spaces. It is a collaborative and multi-disciplinary process of shaping the physical setting for life – the art of making spaces. It involves the designing of the buildings, groups of buildings, spaces and landscape, and establishing frameworks and procedures that will deliver successful development of city and its inhabitants over a period of time.
Urban design is about a variety of places in the cityscape, where we strive to resolve the problems and conflicts in order to create better spaces for everyone. Sometimes, this result in new places being built or a new appreciation of existing urban areas. We tend to design for people at human scale, to make life better and to make more attractive places that will remain valuable over time – a place that functions well, is attractive, durable and cost effective to build and maintain – all this keeping in mind the bigger picture at an early stage of development.
